Salary range: €43,000 - €52,000
Key Purpose
The Head of Food and Beverage is responsible for the development and delivery of all food and beverage services at the IFI Café Bar. This includes shaping the guest experience, managing a high-performing team, driving innovation, and ensuring sustainable growth through effective financial and operational oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Development
In collaboration with the Director, Operations Director, Finance Director and any other relevant members of Senior Management, contribute to the strategic direction for food and beverage in alignment with the organisation’s cultural and commercial goals.
Stay informed on industry trends and customer behaviour to support menu development, product offerings, and pricing.
Support service initiatives that enhance customer experience and reflect the IFI’s brand values.
Guest Experience Support
Foster a culture of warm, inclusive service and hospitality across the Café Bar.
Drive the delivery of consistent customer service standards in partnership with team supervisors.
Support the shaping and refining of the customer journey with a focus on accessibility, efficiency, and guest satisfaction.
Monitor customer feedback and contribute to continuous improvement plans.
Food & Beverage Development
Line management of the kitchen and working closely with the Head Chef to collaborate on seasonal menus, dietary inclusion, and sustainable practices.
Support initiatives around ethical food practices, local sourcing, and waste reduction.
Contribute to the implementation of innovative approaches such as eco-conscious packaging or new dining concepts.
Financial & Commercial Support
Work with the Operations Director and Finance Director to help monitor financial performance and support revenue, margin, and cost-control targets.
Assist with data analysis to inform purchasing and pricing decisions.
Help manage supplier relationships to ensure product quality and good value.
Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes as required.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead a multidisciplinary food and beverage team, cultivating a positive and inclusive, culture.
Provide coaching and development pathways for team members including supervisors and culinary team.
Ensure robust recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management processes are in place and upheld.
Collaborate with HR to ensure legal compliance and best practice in team wellbeing and working conditions.
Operational Oversight
Develop, implement, and continuously improve Standard Operating Procedures.
Oversee scheduling, stock control, cash handling, hygiene, and health & safety protocols, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation (e.g. HACCP).
The successful candidate must be flexible to work key shifts to maintain visibility, leadership presence, and team connection. This will include 2 shifts to 9pm in addition to at least one closing, which must include a Thursday, Friday or Saturday.
