The starting salary for this role is €40,800. Progression to higher levels is based on performance as outlined in our competency framework.

Overview of IFI
The Irish Film Institute is Ireland’s national cultural institution for film. At the IFI’s historic home in Eustace Street, Temple Bar, our diverse audiences and loyal members enjoy our 3 cinemas, IFI Irish Film Archive’s research and access facilities, IFI Film Shop and IFI Café Bar, and our four digital streaming platforms: IFI@Home; IFI Archive Player; IFI@Schools; IFI International.
The IFI has developed strategic objectives around five core activities:
• EXHIBIT- Providing audiences throughout Ireland with access to the finest independent, Irish and international cinema
• PRESERVE - Preserving and promoting Ireland’s moving image heritage through the IFI Irish Film Archive
• EDUCATE - Providing opportunities for audiences of all ages and backgrounds to learn and critically engage with film through IFI Education
• INNOVATE - Using new and emerging technologies to enhance audience engagement, operations and processes, while exploring opportunities for expansion
• PEOPLE - Always considering audiences, artists and IFI staff as the triad at the heart of all decision-making regarding what we do and how we do it.
The IFI is seeking to appoint a Senior Digital Content Specialist who is passionate about film and eager to creatively and dynamically share the IFI’s diverse and multi-faceted offering with audiences. The role will report directly to the IFI Marketing and Publicity Manager, and the successful candidate will be responsible for the building and implementation coordination of a high impact digital and video strategy, maximising the impact of the IFI’s digital marketing output across IFI Cinemas, IFI Irish Film Archive, IFI Education, IFI International, IFI National, festivals, seasons, courses, special events and more.
Key responsibilities of the role will include:
Social media
Create a strong, imaginative and brand-appropriate content strategy across the IFI’s social channels, including Letterboxd, in order to engage the IFI audience
Create and implement comprehensive content calendars across the IFI's range of activities
Manage the running of organic and paid social media campaigns across key platforms to increase event visibility, maximise ticket sales and meet agreed targets, while ensuring content is created to the highest editorial standards
Provide best-in-class customer service to the IFI community, addressing queries and customer service issues quickly and efficiently
Liaise with various IFI Departments to promote the work of the organisation online
Cover special events and opening nights as required
Monitor and analyse content metrics, including website traffic, engagement rates and conversions, formulating regular reports and data-driven recommendations.
Video content
Storyboard, shoot and edit video campaigns such as season/festival trailers, in-house behind-the-scenes content, and interviews with talent or guests etc.
Collaborate closely with the IFI Publicity and Marketing Manager to develop and deepen the IFI's online video footprint
IFI Website
Oversee the creation of event pages and set ticket sales live, coordinating closely with other IFI departments, particularly Box Office
Maintain the main institutional IFI website, ensuring that all information is up-to-date, relevant and easily accessible
Maximise SEO, AEO and GEO opportunities, to build visitor numbers and online engagement
Liaise with external suppliers and developers in relation to the ongoing management, hosting and maintenance of the IFI website
E-Marketing
Coordinate e-marketing activity using audience segments to create impactful and targeted ezines, increasing engagement and conversion rates
Manage IFI mailing lists and subscriber information in accordance with best practice GDPR principles
Create engaging weekly and occasional newsletters promoting the ongoing activities of the IFI, with a view to increasing engagement
Create IFI Digital Marketing Reports to track audience track web traffic, users, audience, demographics, Google Ads effectiveness, and conversion from social traffic
The ideal Candidate should have the following skills and experience:
Experience in building and/or collaborating on the delivery of a short- and medium- term digital content strategy, including video
Demonstrated ability to create strong, engaging, SEO-friendly cross-platform content
Experience working with a diverse range of eMarketing tools such as Wordpress, Survey Monkey, Craft CMS and Mailchimp
Video editing experience with a proven track record of short-form content creation, including across TikTok and Instagram Reels
Advanced editing skills using software such as CapCut and Premiere Pro
Strong social media management expertise with platforms such as Sprout Social
Excellent Google suite and Microsoft Excel skills
Experience working cross-departmentally in order to deliver across a full organisational strategy
A proven track record working in a busy office environment which requires strong time and priority management
A proven track record working with third-party contractors and external stakeholders
Have an eye for design and creating marketing assets such as social graphics
An acute awareness of the social media landscape, with the ability to adapt to the landscape quickly and strategically
Be familiar and comfortable with photography and videography equipment
High-level writing abilities with strong attention to detail and experience editing
Have strong organisational and interpersonal skills
Be target driven, self-motivated, positive, proactive and collaborative
A working knowledge of the Irish and international film industry is desirable, but not essential
The above duties are a guide to the responsibilities of the IFI Senior Digital Content Specialist. From time to time, the post-holder may be required to undertake other duties in line with the requirements of the post.
Please note that the IFI is an event space that operates from morning to the late evening. As such, the successful candidate may be required to work outside their regular working hours to cover events during evenings and weekends.
For the department to maximise its potential, teamwork and effective communication are key. The Senior Digital Content Specialist will contribute positively, proactively and constructively to the team, share information and contribute to meetings, and be flexible in all aspects of the role when required.
